I don’t know why I’m thinking in such businesslike terms, guys—maybe because I’ve been applying to jobs lately? Basically, in language more suited to the blogosphere, here’s an update on where I’ve been and a poll about where you want this blog to go.
In the past month and a half, I’ve been transitioning from Germany to the good ol’ USA. It’s been so nice to be back in this familiar, friendly place where most things are way easier (not included: getting places by bike and finding bread that tastes good), but there’s still so much I miss about Germany and Europe, too. (I mean, obviously.) I think I’m still processing all the changes, and maybe some of that will come out here someday.
July was chock-full of exciting activities, like visiting family, staying at the beach (ahhhhhhhh), and volunteering at a camp. Now, however, I’m thoroughly sick of living out of a suitcase and quite excited about the idea of settling into our new house and a normal life. Part of that normal life involves me doing an online class with the college I’m going to attend full-time someday, Lord willing, and getting a job. I’d really appreciate prayer that the class would go well (specifically that my arms would be able to handle the work) and that I’ll be able to find a good job.
Because I’ll be such a mature little adult with my college classes and a job, I’m not sure how much time I’ll be able to devote to these starry skies. I desperately want to keep up with this blog, but I don’t want to over-commit and promise something I can’t deliver on. I have another Enneagram post coming up, and then after that … *drum roll*
You get to weigh in. I’m going to have less time and arm energy (that sounds a little … strange, but if you’ve been around here for a while you know what I mean), so I want to make sure that when I do post, it’s stuff that you guys are really interested in. It would be a huge blessing if you could answer the poll below (I’ve set it so you can pick up to three answers) and/or tell me in the comments what you like to read about—and what you don’t. And if you have any ideas that I didn’t include, please let me know in the comments!
Be honest, folks. I seriously do I want to know your opinions. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be doing this. Sure, I’d still be writing, but the fellowship and feedback you provide give me the incentive to create new things even when it’s hard and to put in the extra work to polish my pieces. So thank you for that and for being a part of this community. ❤
