a celebration of spring

A few weeks ago my family, aunt, and two cousins went to Keukenhof, a huge garden in the Netherlands with literally millions of flowers. The weather was perfect, and I took 400+ photos. *sheepish grin* My family kindly put up with me stopping every foot and snapping more pictures. There was just too much GORGEOUS. Anywho, I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you guys since I want to share more of my photography. Enjoy my little celebration of spring.

(Also if you click on the pictures you can see a bigger version, which I’d recommend since I think they look better bigger. =D)

i thank You God for most this amazing
day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun’s birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any—lifted from the no
of all nothing—human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

So, dear readers: How’s your spring coming? What kinds of natural beauty have you enjoyed? Which picture is your favorite? *hands out some lemonade and cookies*

  3. Those photos are gorgeous! I love them all, but your favorite (the grape hyacinths) is also my favorite. They’re a popular garden / front yard flower on Cape Cod, too, so I’ve seen quite a few during my recent visits to my parents.

  6. These are so gorgeous. And they also make me depressed, because I was just in Keukenhof a month ago and I just missed your family. :\

  7. Beautiful photos! I think my favorite is the one with the tulip beds kind of winding through the trees, but I love the first photo as well.
Oh, and the flower you said is your favorite? We used to have those in our garden in VA.
