Two exclamation points?! An exclamation point and a question mark?!?! This must be exciting news indeed, you think.
You’d be right. The past fews days have induced quite the bouncing and squealing because of the awesomeness of this news. *cue anticipatory drum beats* (That does not feel like the right adjective to use there, but oh well.)
Okay, so: You’ve heard me talk about Andrew Peterson before, yes? He’s one of my absolute favorite musicians and authors, and he wrote this splendid fantasy series, The Wingfeather Saga. The last book, The Warden and the Wolf King, won WORLD magazine’s 2014 Children’s Book of the Year.
Well, he’s decided to bring The Wingfeather Saga (hereafter abbreviated WF) to screen through animation. Yup, you read that right: WF movies. *cue screams of joy* The way he’s going to do this is through a Kickstarter campaign, the way he funded the fourth book (and, by the way, got 840% of his goal). All the awesome details can be found at this link:
And here’s the wonderful video about it, featuring AP himself:
Oh, and I forgot: They’re also working on a new collection of WF short stories. Yes, you can start screaming with joy right now, if you haven’t started already.
He started the campaign this Tuesday, and get this: It’s already passed the base goal. I kid you not. That’s pretty amazing. Now, we’re starting to reach the “stretch goals”—more short stories and more characters in the films. Oh, and did you see the amazing goodies you get if you pledge to back it? I’m not sure how I’ll be able to wait till my treats come.
I wouldn’t keep you here any longer—go click on the link, check it out, get excited, and pledge to back it. And then come back here and freak out with me about how awesome this is. Sound good?
