A NaPoWriMo poem I haven’t posted yet, day 18. Inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:12.
Together
I know I am broken,
weak, wilting
I know that I struggle,
stumble, fall
But won’t you take my hand?
Won’t you let me try to help?
Alone, we are drowning,
But together—
Together we can soar
I know I am stained,
scarred, sinking
I am that I tremble,
cower, faint
But won’t you take my hand?
Won’t you let me try to help?
Alone, we are conquered,
But together—
Together we can overcome
A threefold chord is not easily broken,
He says,
Even if the chords themselves
Are thin
So twine yourself around me,
Join me,
Meld what little strength you have
With mine
And let us become a lifeline, pulling others
To safety
Because we are so strong
Together
