To our persecuted brothers and sisters. We haven’t forgotten you.
April 27, 2015 ~ Prayer for the Persecuted
I pray that your fire burns bright
Against the cold winds seeking to douse it.
I pray that your courage stands tall
Against the hards hammers seeking to crush it.
I pray that your songs soar high
Amidst the chaos of evil seeking to drown them.
I pray that your prayers shout loud
Amidst the distractions seeking to hide them.
I pray that you know we care,
We in our palaces and safety and freedom—
We care.
I pray that you know He cares—
He in His lofty heaven who can feel so far away—
He cares.
And as the world struggles to handle the evil you’re facing—
will they condemn it, will they praise it,
will they shrug and try to forget?—
I pray that you know that there is a remnant,
A remnant who cares,
A remnant who prays,
A remnant who draws strength from your strength,
A remnant who shouts across the waters, across the worlds,
“We have not forgotten you—
See you at home!”
All this and more,
I pray.
