Rise Again

Inspired by 2 Corinthians 4.

you are hard-sadpersonsittingpressed on every side,

swept away by the pounding tide

you are perplexed and confused,

faced with terrors hell has loosed

you are persecuted by all men,

losing the strength to fight again

you are weak and weary,

and you want it all to end

but I promise you,

you will rise again

your hope will soon be swept away,

sadgirlno strength to face another day

your faith has slipped onto the ground,

trampled by the lying voices that surround

your Lord feels like He’s finally gone,

His light withheld like a cloudy dawn

you are battered and broken,

and you think you’ve reached the end

but I promise you,

you will rise again

the treasure is enclosed in jars of clay candle

and we are tired, we are wasting away

but the treasure will last to the end of the age

the treasure will stand, and the treasure will save

you are dark and dying,

and you tremble to see the end

but I promise you,

you will rise again

lightthrucloudsthe troubles are momentary and light,

they are the fading hours of the night

but the glory reaches beyond the external

the glory is strong and the glory’s eternal

you are faint and fading,

and you sink into the end

but I promise you,

you will rise again

  1. “your faith has slipped onto the ground,” <<<< That line and the picture next to it remind me of a story Amelia and I have going on, which I want to write one day. I think this poem may give me inspiration for that certain story. 0_0
Anyway, I love this poem, Abbs dear. ❤

  2. Gorgeous! Such wonderful description of how we feel during our struggles. Again, I like how you didn’t use capitalization. 😉 And the pictures were great, and really added an extra dimension to the poem.
